Services are deployed in real-time to the location of the individual experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Mobile Crisis Response is designed to support individuals in the following manner:

• Provide rapid response to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis, and
• Meet the individual in an environment where they are comfortable to facilitate service engagement, stabilization and resolution of the crisis when possible

Community Stabilization Services

Community Stabilization Services are designed for children and adults struggling with acute crises of a psychiatric nature that may jeopardize their current community living situation, or which puts them at risk of psychiatric hospitalization. The objectives of this service are to prevent exacerbation of a mental health condition, to prevent injury to the client or others, and to provide treatment in the context of the least restrictive setting. The interventions provided during this service may include, but are not limited to:

• averting psychiatric hospitalization or re-hospitalization by providing guided 1-1 support for up to 8 hours in one day, up to 15 days in row, depending on insurance approval;

• providing living environments with a high assurance of safety and security by working with the identified client and supports on safety planning;

• stabilizing individuals in psychiatric crisis through short-term focused goals;

• mobilizing resources of the community support system, family members, and others for ongoing maintenance, and rehabilitation; and

• making referrals and linkages to longer-term services that will be in place after the identified crisis period to enhance overall well-being.

In order to qualify for Community Stabilization Services, you or your loved one needs to be experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis that could result in hospitalization without these supports. Those experiencing symptoms of Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Heightened Anxiety and Stress, or a similar mental health condition might be eligible. Those experiencing chronic stressors such as homelessness, lack of employment, family discord, or anything that might enhance the symptoms of mental illness that could result in a person needing hospitalization are encouraged to reach out to discuss our Community Stabilization Services.

Substance Use Case Management

Case management and addiction recovery involve the coordination of services and resources to meet the individualized needs of each person. Case management and substance abuse may include connecting individuals with healthcare providers, mental health professionals, employment services, housing assistance, and other social services. Case managers work closely with clients to assess their needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and monitor progress throughout the recovery process.

Effective case management in addiction treatment involves collaboration among various providers and organizations to ensure that clients receive comprehensive care. This may include communication among healthcare providers, social service agencies, and other community resources. Case managers play a critical role in advocating for their clients and ensuring that they have access to the resources they need to succeed in recovery.

Outpatient Therapy

Is anxiety taking over your life? Does it feel like you can’t control it no matter how hard you try? Have you already tried therapy but found it ineffective? If this sounds like you, I’m confident I can help. My practice offers the most effective forms of treatment, to get the relief from anxiety that you deserve. When it comes to treating anxiety disorders, research shows that therapy is usually the most effective option. That’s because anxiety therapy – as opposed to anxiety medication – treats more than just symptoms to the problem.

Often, these are the symptoms of anxiety:

• Nervousness, restlessness or being tense
• Feelings of danger, panic or dread
• Rapid breathing or hyperventilation
• Increased or heavy sweating
• Trembling or muscle twitching
• Weakness or lethargy
• Difficulty focusing or thinking clearly about anything other than the thing you’re worried about
• Insomnia
• Obsessions about certain ideas, a sign of obsessive-compulsive disorder
• Anxiety surrounding a particular life event or experience that has occurred in the past, a sign of post-traumatic stress disorder

Therapy can help to uncover the underlying causes of your worries and fears, learn how to relax, look at situations in a new, less frightening way, and develop better coping mechanisms and problem-solving skills.

Most people will experience trauma in their lifetime whether it’s a car accident, abuse or neglect, the sudden death of a loved one, a violent criminal act, exposure to the violence of war, or a natural disaster. While many people can recover from trauma over time with the love and support of family and friends and bounce back with resiliency, others may discover effects of lasting trauma, which can cause a person to live with deep emotional pain, fear, confusion, or posttraumatic stress far after the event has passed. In these circumstances, the support, guidance, and assistance of a therapist is fundamental to healing from trauma.

Trauma Symptoms (according to the four types of symptoms listed in the DSM-5)

Avoidance Symptoms

• Avoiding specific locations, sights, situations, and sounds that serve as reminders of the event
• Anxiety, depression, numbness, or guilt

Re-experiencing Symptoms
• Intrusive thoughts, nightmares or flashbacks

Hyperarousal Symptoms
• Anger, irritability, and hypervigilance
• Aggressive, reckless behavior, including self-harm
• Sleep disturbances

Negative Mood and Cognition Symptoms
• Loss of interest in activities that were once considered enjoyable
• Difficulty remembering details of the distressing event
• Change in habits or behavior since the trauma

Research has proven psychotherapy to be the most effective form of treatment for trauma. Most commonly, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) are used in treating trauma.

Are you feeling hopeless, isolated and not your usual self? Do these thoughts often enter your mind?

• I am worthless and can’t do anything about it.
• I feel guilty for just wanting to eat, sleep and be alone.
• I hate who I am these days.
• I can’t stop crying, which makes me want to stay away from others.
• I feel gut-wrenching pain, but no one understands.
• My life and the world around me are dark. I hate it, but I can’t change it.

If you have had any variation of these thoughts and don’t feel like your usual self, chances are you may be suffering from depression. I want you to know that you are not alone and there are people who can help. Many of my clients find relief in realizing that their struggle does not own them and that there are many options available to once again have hope for their lives.

I understand the social stigmas that come with label of being depressed, and thus aim to help clients sort out their environmental, biological and circumstantial factors while offering support and care through a very dark time in their lives.

Family Counseling

Our family affects who we are and who we become, both for the better and for worse. We learn our vocabulary, our habits, our customs and rituals, and how to view and observe the world around us. Anyone seeking healthier, closer family relationships can benefit from family therapy.

Common reasons for seeking family therapy include:

• Divorce
• Parent-child conflict
• Problems between siblings
• Domestic violence
• The unexpected or traumatic loss of a family member

Family therapy is necessary to address family issues and heal a family’s wounds. If any of the above scenarios resonate with your family, consider seeking family therapy. Family therapy can be beneficial on many different levels. Some positive family therapy outcomes are:

• Strategies to develop and maintain boundaries
• Fostered sense of cohesion and communication among family members
• Promotes problem-solving through an understanding of family patterns and dynamics
• Builds empathy and understanding.
• Reduces family conflict

Studies show that family therapy is particularly important for families with members who struggle with substance abuse, eating disorders and other behavioral issues. When the whole family grows, each member is better off.

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a level of treatment for substance use disorders on the continuum of care between outpatient treatment (OP) and higher levels of care, which include residential in-patient treatment and all-day partial hospitalization (PHP). During the program, participants will learn about the cycle of addiction and stages of change, develop recovery and relapse prevention plans, discuss triggers, cravings, and coping strategies, as well as dive into holistic wellness discussions to reduce overall stress, anxiety, and mental health struggles that play a role in substance use.
